Five hundred years after Mary Queen of Scots reportedly rested within its ancient walls, the four-star Macdonald Houstoun House Hotel is ready to host guests in seven beautifully restyled bedrooms within the imposing original 16th century tower.
The transformation of the feature bedrooms, with touches that include 4-poster beds, powerful Mansoon showers and in-room Nespresso machines is part of a £330,000 refurbishment programme of 23 bedrooms in the picturesque West Lothian hotel that’s a key conference and wedding venue in the area.

Herve Bernier, general manager of Macdonald Houstoun House, commented: “I am very pleased that we can now offer guests the opportunity to experience the style and comfort of our newly refurbished tower bedrooms. We are also on schedule to complete the refurbishment of an additional 17 bedrooms by early February.
“This significant investment underlines our commitment to ensure Macdonald Houstoun House operates as a leading business and leisure destinations in the west of Edinburgh.”
